In the 15th century, the French named turquoise “turquois” – the Turkish stone – because it reached Europe through Anatolia along the Silk Road, even though most of it was mined in Persia.
This is where our story starts.
Maison Turkuaz was created by a marine scientist obsessed with natural turquoise stones and turquoise seas. A globetrotting dive instructor throughout her 20s, she spent over six months of her life underwater – that calm, weightless rhythm is still how she measures time. Raised in Canada but with deep roots in Istanbul, she spent much of her childhood wandering the Grand Bazaar and learning its maze by heart.
A fierce addiction to buying beautiful stones taught her this is her calling – it makes her happiest, and the world simply flows better when everyone does what makes them happiest.
Every piece exists only once.
HOW WE CHOOSE A STONE
Each piece begins with falling in love with the stone.
Not a style. Not a mold. The stone.
We hand-select turquoise one by one for its energy, its matrix, and its spirit.
If a stone doesn’t energize, it doesn’t come home with us.
Some turquoise is just blue. Some turquoise is fiercely alive.
We only take the highly charged ones. If it feels flat, it’s out.
The energy comes from its matrix – tiny worlds that may hold a creature, a spirit guide, a landscape, a portal. They all live on different frequencies, and their markings power: hold their power: a samurai, a pack of wolves, an angel-mermaid, a peacock, a genie, a dancer, a doorway – the cast is endless. When a form appears, that’s not decoration. That’s its identity. That’s the role of the stone.
Each one is named for what’s living inside it.

Our work is built on turquoise chosen one by one.
Every stone we choose is selected for its energy, its matrix, and its spirit. If a stone doesn’t energize, it doesn’t come home with us.
Some are naturally solid and stay raw, and some have been stabilized to keep them strong and wearable.
These are collector level natural turquoise stones, most of them originating from Persia, with some additions from Egypt and Kazakhstan.
